Read about our journey, from first date to first dance.

It was the tale of Sex and the Two Cities.
As the winter sun cast a warm glow over two of America's largest desert cities—Phoenix and Las Vegas—on an unexpectedly mild December 20th, 2023, I, Fionna, ever the optimist, discovered Andrea, whose laid-back light and charm was equally inviting. After sending her that first message, she replied back with an invitation to watch Jeopardy. I melted. 🫠 In that moment, I couldn’t help but wonder: had the universe conspired to unite us?

And, just like that, a new chapter began.

Our first date was like something out of a movie. I, Andrea, was preparing to meet Fionna for the first time. She was heading to California for work, and had found a layover that would create just enough time for us to meet. I chose Rough Rider as our rendezvous spot (the image shows where we sat!).

As I walked in, my eyes immediately gravitated to Fionna, as she sat on the green, velvet couch. With less than 40 minutes to spare, it felt as if time had stopped.

Fionna invited me to join her on the ride back to the airport. I did. It was on that ride that I asked her if I could steal a kiss. It would be our first of many.

Throughout the past year, we've aimed to try new experiences together, whenever we get the chance. In the photo above, we're at WiseGuy's (a comedy club in Las Vegas).

As we sat, Andrea’s hand in mine, neither of us could stop smiling—it was Andrea's first time watching a live comedy show in person, and I got to watch her fall in love with the experience.

While not every comedian was a hit, that only made it more fun. We whispered inside jokes, shared knowing glances, and laughed together often. It wasn’t only about the show—it was about us, and how easy it is to find joy in each other’s company.

The night before, we hit up Tacos El Gordo for the first time. It was incredible, and packed, even though we were out crazy late!

This Thanksgiving, we found ourselves in San Francisco, surrounded by family and loved ones, laughter, and the kind of memories that make holidays unforgettable.

One of my sisters and her [formerly] boyfriend hosted a ‘90s game night, a nostalgic whirlwind of way-too-intense competition! But, the biggest surprise of the night was only a surprise to my sister: when her boyfriend got down on one knee and also popped the question. Andrea and I loved getting to be there for that, and we also loved how we even looked compatible in '90s attire. 😎

Over that summer, we visited Henderson bird preserve, met with Andrea's mom, bestie, and twin sister, Alex (all in Phoenix, AZ) and we even traveled to downtown Cleveland, Ohio, for one of my best friend's other sister and her now husband's wedding.

At their wedding, I had the honor of being one of two adult flower girls—yes, really! It was beautiful to share this experience so intimately with Andrea, and to celebrate with everyone, soaking in every joyful, tear-filled, dance-floor-spinning moment. All weekend, people kept saying, “You two have to be next...”

What some of them didn't know was that, by that point, I'd been asking family and friends to save the date of 5/25/25 for months.

Thank you for taking a peek into just a few of the adventures we've shared together. Our love story is full of unexpected moments (like popping the question at the top of the Empire State Building on Christmas night) and quiet magic, in which we’re so happy you have a part.

Your support, laughter, and commitment to being part of our lives has helped carry us into this next chapter, and it means the world to us both.

We can’t wait for that champagne toast, some salsa dancing, cake, food, and fun to celebrate our special day with each and every one of you at Lake Las Vegas.

We hope you will join us as we, officially, become one family, the Nuñez-Faulks.

Thank you, and see you on 5/25/25!
